As far as modern day inventions go, there are definitely more impressive and advanced gadgets than the Portable DVD Player. The Ipad comes foremost to mind - But not very many offer as much entertainment value, especially when you're away from a wi-fi connection.
It's a funny thing to wonder, but what did people do 100 years ago, before the advent of modern electronic devices? It wasn't very long ago, relatively speaking that things such as radio, television and telephones did not exist. People had to keep themselves busy by interacting and having meaningful conversation with one-another. Imagine that! Today, we have the technology to speak (sometimes face to face) to anyone via computer connection, but will rarely go out of our way to converse with even our closest neighbor. In addition to that fact, we have been served in the recent decade with more technological advances as never before.
As many of us are aware, we live in a society where we cannot just sit still and listen to our thoughts. We live in a world of instant gratification, hi-fi wireless access to the world wide web just about everywhere we go and rarely do you see folks just strolling around or sitting quietly without an electronic gadget to keep them occupied. You can argue that having all this technology is a good thing. It certainly makes life and keeping oneself entertained much easier to achieve.
That being said, dear reader, brings me to a subject very close to my heart. It is my opinion that the noble DVD player, no matter how technologically advanced we get will never become extinct as far as media types go. Not for home entertainment, but rather for ability and flexibility of the Portable DVD player. Nowadays, you can watch a DVD absolutely anywhere your heart desires. In the car, on the roof of your building, by the lake, on the top of mount Everest. Whatever. The portability of these players now allows us to charge the power source, get mobile and decide on any location from which to watch our favorite presentation or movie flick.
The various model types and styles available are numerous and there are different price levels and options to suit every need. Electronic manufacturers Sony, Philips, Sylvania, Coby, Panasonic and RCA just to name the most popular brands are revolutionizing the way we watch DVD's. There are flip screen models, headrest mounted players, dual Portable DVD Players (some which allow you the flexibility of watching two different films at the same time or play the same film on both screens) and enough screen sizes and resolution levels to satisfy even the most demanding consumer.
It should be obvious by now that this article is devoted to the awesome value which the Portable DVD Player offers. Never in the history of mankind has the luxury of such portable entertainment been more easily available and more accessible to all. These mobile devices have quietly become one of he most sought after entertainment gadgets over the past two or three years. With films being available for sale just about everywhere, you can pick up a Hollywood blockbuster, a documentary or a recorded musical performance of your choice, travel to the destination which your heart desires, pop in the disc and enjoy the movie at your will.
Our family has a lot of praise for the mobile ability of this form of entertainment. Our family has owned a set of dual DVD players, which we install on the rear headrests of our truck on long trips, and have kept the kids entertained during those long drives when we go on vacation. These are happy memories and may be the main reason why I have such high praise for the noble, Portable DVD Player for kids.
